How we Started
Formed in 2010 Arcadu is the brain child of Stephen Astley who works as an Assistant Headteacher at a Bolton Secondary school. Keen to explore the opportunities of new technology to raise attainment Stephen set out to introduce the very latest affordable solutions for his school. It soon became apparent that no single solution offered the functionality his students deserved in terms of a truly personalised engaging, motivating and entertaining revision and homework resource.
Stephen has worked in his own time with students, teachers and parents to develop a system that engages learners, supports teachers, saves time and money for schools and crucially adapts to challenge and support students of different abilities using Arcadu’s unique intelligent question banks.
A key belief of Stephens has been that Arcadu should be available to as many Primary and Secondary schools as possible. With this in mind Arcadu is available from only £2 per student for an annual license resulting in much needed savings for schools in terms of textbooks, workbooks and photocopying costs.
Arcadu offers a unique fully personalised and differentiated homework and revision solution for Primary and Secondary schools across 14 subjects. A web based e-learning solution with 24/7 access Arcadu uses arcade quality games to entertain and engage students. Being web based Arcadu works in all schools and is not dependent on the schools VLE.
Schools are able to raise standards and personalise learning for all abilities with Arcadu. Over 80 unique challenges ensure students are engaged, entertained and educated through Arcadu’s intelligent question bank of over 7000 differentiated questions covering National Curriculum levels 3 to GCSE grade A*. Arcadu celebrates student achievements via national and local league tables promoting competition and the desire to learn.
Arcadu enables schools to engage, inform and involve parents in their child’s learning through fully automated and secure monthly email reports.
